It’s Reclamation Season

In the midst of carrying the world's weight, remember to nurture your own spirit. As Black women, we often find ourselves holding everything together, surviving rather than thriving. Survival mode often means feeling like we have to hide or fragment parts of ourselves; put on a strong face, project strength to stay safe.

This is my first video in a long time. I’m returning from a season of  grief, sadness, frustration, and groundlessness, and I’m inviting you in to hear where I’ve been, what I’m bringing back with me… and what I am not

I'm calling this my "Reclamation Season." It's about taking back:
our time,
our boundaries,
our wellness,
our sense of self.

It’s about reclaiming that which was never lost — just hidden or kept in the back for a while.

This is more than a personal journey. To every Black and Brown woman reading this: What have you given up to feel safe or accepted? How can you move from holding it all together to honoring all of who you are?

Let’s rest together in the safety of community, and the power of healing. You are not alone in this: we can connect in the comments. Please share your journey, offer validation, or encourage others to reclaim their wholeness.
